Katie

Beth and Nathan had practice this morning, and the guys were off disc golfing so Katie and I got to spend a little quality time together. Hard to do with three kiddos! Katie snuggled up in my sweater and for an hour was content to just be tickled and hugged as we watched the kids sing. *Sigh* The life!! :)

During the second hour of practice we took a walk to the gas station to grab a quick snack. One thing that I love (out of many!) about my dear Katie is her continued chatter broken only by a quick "Right, Mom?" then a pause so I can answer and then it immediately resumes. I enjoyed that all the way there, and all the way back. :) She engaged the cashiers in talk and almost had to be pushed out of the door. My little talkative princess. Such a girl!!! Haha.

It's amazing how fast kids grow (She'll be four in just over a week!)! Already she has developed quite the personality! She is out-going and stubborn, and thoroughly a girl, down to the required pink wardrobe. And as the "Princess Katelyn-fly" , she knows she must rule-the roost!

She is also very smart, and I am so proud of all she has learned. She even continues to surprise me with things. Today, sitting on the steps to the church she pointed to the STOP sign and said, "Look, Mom, an octagon!" I am pretty sure that is not a shape I taught her!! I was just a little shocked! She knows her letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.. Preschool this year should be a breeze! :)

I am so very thankful for my little one, and am so excited to see who she becomes. Though I don't want her to grow to quickly!!

Beth

My dear sweet, Beth is growing up too fast! Hard to believe that next month she will be eight already! Where does time go?

Beth this year has been the busiest of the kiddos. At this time she is, once a week, going out for a four hour session at Christian Ranchers, learning all she can about horses and riding. She has a new friend whom she enjoys spending time with and who also joins her for class. His name is Madison.

She also goes twice a week to practice for Crantastic Singers and will be performing, on her birthday, at Cranfest this year. This is also the first year she will have a solo! She does such a wonderful job and I am soooooo proud of her!! :)

Her reading this summer has improved in leaps and bounds and I am so happy as it had been such a struggle for her during the last school year. Now she works on her reading without any prompting from me!
I am so proud of my girl!! Looking forward to an awesome school year with her!!

Family Update

Well, my attempts at keeping a blog have failed! LOL! I'm going to try harder! :p

Just a quick update in general for the family - This spring/summer we have enjoyed a trip to Missouri with family, which included, Silver Dollar City, Dixie Stampede, and the Spring field Zoo, not to mention wonderful quality family time. :) Also swimming, and the Fair! The kids have been busy with Christian Ranchers, VBS, and Crantastic Singers. Overall it has been a wonderfully, busy summer!!
